Step into Christmas with High Tea this year!

With the most wonderful time of the year, we need the most wonderful tea and what better way to take a break between your Christmas shopping than stopping for high tea? If you are hosting this year, you will have more than a plate full of things to organise, so swap that plate with one of delicious scones, pastries and finger sandwiches, and a pot of your favourite tea. Who said the Aussie’s can’t do tea? While we might miss out on a white Christmas, these high tea places are sure to make up for the snow.  I have listed some magical places in Australia that take high tea to the next level.

Pan Pacific’s Christmas High Tea

Pan Pacific in Melbourne offers both panoramic views of the city and the Yarra River as a Champagne High Tea for two. Between the 7th December and 22 December, you can indulge in high tea on a Saturday or a Sunday. Their selection of the finest luxury teas will satisfy the most selective of tea-snobs. Their options include an adult package, a children’s package or a package with a glass of Veuve Clicquot. Worth the visit are the Christmas themed delicacies, almost too pretty to eat.

The Langham Melbourne

Think Langham and you will think of tea. At The Langham Melbourne you can celebrate the season with their Festive Afternoon Tea throughout the month of December. There is an option with free-flowing Louis Roederer for those who want. If you are looking to escape the hosting, but still feel festive, why not gather in the City on Christmas Day and let Langham offer a Christmas Day Afternoon Tea with all things Christmas, and who, in true Langham spirit does not want a pink Christmas?

Mary Eats Cake have two locations, in Montrose or Brunswick, and serve Christmas High Tea during December. May I suggest that you do not eat before arriving as both the tea and the scones are unlimited. More than high tea, they have venues for hire should you be tempted to bring your Christmas party here, alternatively you could try their catering services and leave the nitty gritty of hosting to the professionals.

Step into the most wholesome cuteness overload at St Julien’s Tea House, where the lovely Benetta and Bethan will make you feel like home.  A must try are the fluffy Ice Cream Waffles with chai-spiced cream, sprinkled with toasted almonds and maple syrup. If this doesn’t make you feel like you’ve landed on the North Pole, then I don’t know what will! Here you will feel like it is Christmas every day.

The Tearoom QVB
The Tearoom QVB

The Tea Room QVB in Sydney is one of the most iconic and beautiful buildings in Australia, and the Tea Room at QVB is sure to impress with their fabulous high tea, served from Royal Albert fine china and British silverware settings. The Tea Room was once known as the Grand Ballroom, and today it hosts venues such as weddings and corporate functions as well as the most luxurious high tea, bringing some old-world charm and glamour to Sydney. This year, you could enjoy a magical High Tea with Santa himself. Imagine that, sipping tea under the chandeliers with the man with the white beard. Exciting, yes?

Flutterbies
Flutterbies

Flutterbies Cottage Café is a true gem and a must visiting if you are in Mount Warning in the Heart of the Caldera. The place itself is an experience with an old-world charm, floral displays and the fresh delicacies served from three-tier birdcage platters. Flutterbies have the most magical gift shop filled with pretty gifts for Christmas. This place will transport you back in time. Book your Bridgerton entourage for a festive High Tea experience for a truly magical experience

Please check availability with each organiser before making any booking as the information might change and not be accurate after the time of writing.
